recent LO's + reminder

A little reminder
: only one day left of the template challenge. If you haven't already, jump to this post, download the template and join in the challenge. There will be a price of $3 for the winning layout!! :) (You can download the template by clicking the image two posts below.....)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Just a couple of recent layouts to show you. I try to scrap one LO each day, but this week I haven't been much productive. But I made this from MT's first bath of the season. It was so cold - but he was super happy for it still; what is it with children and water?!? ;)

Anyhow it was made for the Copycat challenge at Oscraps - the challenge runs to the end of the month, so lots of time for you to join in on the fun ;)

Then there is this simple, but heart felt LO, I made last week with photo from our trip to North Norway a couple of weeks ago (we had such a great time there will be several layouts with photos from that short vacation - in the last post I used a few in the LO's of Tuesday and Saturday). This is also in answer to a challenge, this time at Catscrap.

I wanted to show the layouts I made last week joining in on the Sue Cummings spotlight challenge Simply Perfect at Oscraps. It was so much fun - and so many talented scrappers attending - and I'm so happy for being able to make a new LO for 6 of the 7 days the challenge lasted. I got nominated for layout of the day on 5 of the 6 LO's and on Sunday I won the price. I was so happy and proud and couldn't believe how lucky I was - and now I have $25 to use in Sue's shop. Yay!!

Here are the LO's:
for credits, journaling - and to leave me some love please click the images.

Tuesday - perfect spring day at the beach

Wednesday - cup o' coffee

Thursday - in a Pink Cadillac

Friday - the PERFECT new bike

Saturday - perfect SMILE

Sunday - the most PERFECT day

It was a PERFECT week
:)
I've joined in on a few of these spotlights at Oscarps and they are always fun. This week I had so little time for the challenge (and even less time to dig out some older photos - even though it would be fun) - but hoping to attend next week / spotlight. Come join me?! ;)

layouts + a winner!

It's been some busy days lately in my real life so I'm just now getting around to posting my recent layouts and the winner for my challenge (last week). Yay!

Layouts

(for credits click at the images):

I joined in on the chat with Amanda of Taylor Made designs yesterday. It was fun and very new to me - but I think I will try it out again ;) In the chat she had a challenge for us and I made this LO:

Amanda wanted us to focus on the use of blending modes and she linked us with this tutorial. It was so fun, I don't do this very often - at least not on photos (I love to bled papers!!). Here is my original photo:

First I made this:

Using these blending modes:

o. original
1. screen
2. multiply 90%
3. soft light (black-white)
4. screen (sepia)
5. soft light (sepia)
6. overlay (sepia)

Then I made this - my favorite:

Using these blending modes:

1. filled the background with light-blue color
2. color dodge
3. screen
4. overlay
5. vivid light
6. saturation (black and white)
7. soft light

When I put together the layout I originally wanted to use the original photo, but I ended up changing it up a bit (using blending modes that I can't remember) and making it black and white... It took me some time to get the layout together, but I'm so pleased with the result!! Thanks for the challenge Amanda - and for the freebies as well!!

Then I made this for her other challenge at Catscrap:

Spotlight
This week Fei-Fei stuff's is in the spotlight at Oscraps, she gave us freebies and the full tilt challenge (it lasts till Sunday so why not join in on the fun!!). I made two LO's using her fantastic tilted templates:

And finally over to the winner
of my challenge!

I love how you used my template Natacha! Thanks for joining in and please send me an email to limeblog (here you put in the at) gmail.com and let me know where you want to spend the $4 price - and I'll send you a giftcard from that shop! You might be the only one entering my challenge - but I love how you dressed it non the less!!

The image is linked, please jump over to her gallery and give her some love and see credits for the papers and elements :D

I'm now putting a password to my template, send me an email (address above) if you want it ;) And if anyone use it (it's been downloaded 250 times so I guess someone is using it...) - please let me now!!

free block template + a challenge!

As you can see from my latest scrapbook pages I've hit a boxy nerve. I just can't stop using the blocks for my layout (or so it seems). As a result I decided to make my own templates from scratch just to satisfy my need for squares(!) lol.

Then I thought it would be fun to share - and to make it a challenge! If you - download the template below, make it your own, upload it to your favorite gallery and then return back here no later than May 15th (midnight) - I'll enter you in a drawing of $4 to spend at your digi scrapbook shop of choice.

Seems like fun?! I hope so! Can't wait to see your take on it!!

Here is one of the two layouts I made with this template (the other one is a few posts down - and is the very first LO I made using my own template - that was kind of special!):

credits: papers and elements from It's my party, March collab at Pretty Scrappy, template by CHILIlime design {me}
journal:
Candles from MT's 6-years birthday party, I love how the lights are in focus and the children are blurred in the background.
Now it's your turn!
Download by clicking the image. (Let me know if anything is wrong)

Remember:
HAVE FUN!
Hoping to see your creations soon!

a scraplift and new ct adventures

After not doing scraps for a few days I did two late yesterday evening /this morning ;) The first one was for speed scrap #39, I scrapped about MT and snow ball making. The second one was a scraplift challenge and I scraplifted this:

and came up with this:

I love those angel wings ;)

And right when I was finished and ready for bed I got an email from Jess, asking if I would do another ct-job for her and her new kit. But off course! So that's what I'm doing today.

That and drinking coffee......

just blow

I joined the other speed scrap of the week at Scrapmatters tonight. Not often they comes so close together, but kind of nice to speed scrap twice in one day (sort of...). I'm really tired, so this is just a short post - the linking and such will be done tomorrow!
The first edition:

Winter approaching

Another speed scrap in the middle of the night. This is too fun ;)
Posted this to the gallery at Scrapmatters:

papers and elements by MK designs; date by Mira designs; alpha by Ellie Lash designs; template by Sya's blueprints

A few minutes later (but to late for the speed scrap) I altered it a bit and are more satisfied with this version, no matter if it doesn't count in the challenge ;)

I'm going back to sleep now.
Ups, my kid woke up, better get him to sleep, it's nighty night for the both of us ;)

16 October 2008

speed scrapping in the night

Couldn't help but join in on the speed scrap at Scrapmatters tonight. It's right in the middle of the night here, so usually I'm not able to do this "evening" edition. But I'm not going anywhere tomorrow and I managed to get out of bed a couple of hours ago.....

...and scrapped this:

Template by Janet Phillips; Elements and paper by Britt-ish design; Elements and paper by Emily Powers

I'm really pleased with the result, I love these outdoors photos from October 11th! I might scrap a few more....but now I long for the bed again. It's only 5:30 am here and I've been up for two hours, need a bit more sleep me thinkes.....

Nighty, night!

14 October 2008

speed scrap #34

I joined in on the Speed Scrap at Scrapmatters tonight. Since MT went to a friend I was afraid I wouldn't reach it, but thankfully I easily found both photos and papers. And even though I had just one hour to finish, I got it posted in time. I think this is the fastest LO I've ever made!!
Take one:

The alpha did bother me, though, so after I put MT to bed I used another half an hour to produce a sligthly different look.

Now I can go to sleep feeling I accomplished something.

Which one do you like?
